TUESDAY, 18 NOVEMBER

 

09:00 The Standing Committee on Agriculture, Economic Development and Tourism will meet virtually to be briefed by Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) on progress in line with the Western Cape’s Growth for Jobs Strategy with an analysis of data on jobs created to date, categorised by sector, geographic location, demographic profile, and type of employment. The Department of Economic Development and Tourism will brief the committee on how it uses the analysis provided by Stats SA for its own reporting.

WEDNESDAY, 19 NOVEMBER

 

09:00 The Standing Committee on Mobility will meet in the Chamber to be briefed by the Minister of Mobility and the Western Cape Mobility Department on the current state of vehicle operating licences, and the extent of illegal mobility-related operations across the Western Cape. The committee will also be briefed by the Western Cape e-hailing Association and e-Cabs on the readiness of the e-hailing and metered taxi industry to implement the new laws under the National Land Transport Amendment Act, the safety of commuters using e-hailing and metered taxis, and the support it has received from the Western Cape Government.
