With reference to the Urban Settlements Development Grant (USDG) and the Informal Settlements Upgrading Partnership Grant (ISUPG):

  1. (a) What allocations were made to municipalities from the USDG during (i) 2024/25 and (ii) 2025/26, (b) what percentage of these allocations was spent during each financial year and (c) which projects were funded through the USDG during the 2025/26 financial year;
  2. (a) what allocations were made to municipalities from the ISUPG during (i) 2024/25 and (ii) 2025/26 and (b) what percentage of these allocations was spent during each financial year;
  3. which projects were funded through the ISUPG during the 2025/26 financial year;
  4. how many households benefited from projects funded through these grants during the 2025/26 financial year;
  5. whether any challenges have been identified in the implementation of projects funded through these grants; if so, (a) what are the relevant details and (b) what measures have been implemented to address them?

  1. (a) The City of Cape Town receives the Uban Settlement Development Grant (USDG), Allocations are as follows:

(i)(b) 2024/25 – R1,091,825,000: 98% of the allocated R1,091,825,000 was spent.

(ii)(b) 2025/26 – R1,088,294,000: To date, 83% of the allocation has been spent.
