The Standing Committee on Finance invites stakeholders, interested persons and organisations to make submissions on the Western Cape Twentieth Gambling and Racing Amendment Bill [B 2–2026].

The Amendment Bill seeks to amend the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Act, 1996 (Act 4 of 1996), so as to provide for the payment of an increased bid fee by way of an economic opportunity tax; and to provide for matters incidental thereto.

Stakeholders, interested persons and organisations interested in engaging with the Committee may submit written submissions by email (email: zadams@wcpp.gov.za) or submit voice notes on WhatsApp (cellphone: 067 341 3934). Interested parties may also request to appear before the Standing Committee to make oral presentations.

All submissions and requests to appear before the Standing Committee must reach the Standing Committee by no later than Sunday 19 July 2026.
