  1. Briefing by the Mossel Bay Municipality on the status of the finalisation of the issues raised in the petition submitted by Mr. Barry Jacobs regarding the Greenhaven Flats as follows:

2.1            The absence of housing development projects in Groot Brakrivier

2.2            The current status of new housing developments and subsidy programmes for individuals who are unable to build on a service stand or obtain a bond

2.3            The availability of municipal land earmarked for human settlement purposes

2.4            The conditions of housing applications submitted to the provincial government

2.5            The progress made in transferring title deeds to the residents of the Greenhaven Flats

 

  1. Briefing by the Department of Infrastructure on the following:

3.1            The current status of new housing developments and subsidy programmes available to individuals from Sanddrift and Rugy who are unable to build on a service stand or obtain a bond

3.2            The conditions of lease agreements, including the reasons for the eviction notices issued to residents of Sanddrift and Rugy

3.3            The terms of rental agreements and annual rental increases

3.4            The method used to calculate outstanding debt owed by lessees

 

 

 

 

4.              Briefing by the Department of Infrastructure and the Swellendam Municipality on the following:

4.1            The condition and structural integrity of rural bridge infrastructure across the Western Cape

4.2            The structural integrity of the central bridge, including plans to repair the potholes on the Suurbrak  bridges

4.3            The allocation of emergency funding for urgent safety assessments and repairs of food-affected bridges, infrastructure shortcomings, and budget allocations

4.4            Measures implemented in the budget for urgent safety assessments and repairs of affected bridges

4.5            Legislation implemented to enforce climate-resilient infrastructure standards for all provincial and municipal projects

4.6            The oversight mechanisms implemented to monitor rural infrastructure maintenance and emergency readiness

4.7            Past allocations and spending of infrastructure funds related to Suurbrak bridges

4.8            Who takes accountability for bridge infrastructure planning and maintenance

4.9            Plans implemented to circumvent the flooding of all three bridges, which isolates residents from critical services
