The standing committees of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament will consider the Western Cape Appropriation Bill of 2026 as part of their oversight function through virtual meetings via Microsoft Teams and which will be streamed on Youtube.
The meetings will be scheduled from Friday 13 March 2026 to Wednesday 18 March 2026. The proposed budgets of each provincial department and entity of the Western Cape Government will be discussed.
The purpose of the Western Cape Appropriation Bill of 2026 is to provide for the appropriation of money from the Provincial Revenue Fund for the requirements of the Province of the Western Cape in the 2026/27 financial year and to provide for matters incidental thereto. Money may be withdrawn from the Provincial Revenue Fund only in terms of an appropriation by a provincial Act.
Once the Bill is introduced in the Western Cape Provincial Parliament on Thursday 12 March 2026, an electronic version of the Bill will be available on the Institution's website (www.wcpp.gov.za). Copies of the Bill as well as a copy of the schedule of the meetings will also be available on request from the Standing Committee's Procedural Officer, Ms Waseemah Kamish-Achmat. Her details are:
