With reference to erf 448 in ward 37, Nyanga East:
(a) What is the total number of houses that have (i) been completely demolished or (ii) had parts of the top structure removed due to structural defects, (b) what is the total amount that has been spent by his Department to address these structural defects on erf 448 and (c) what plans, if any, are in place to ensure that residents are adequately rehoused or compensated as a result of these structural defects?
Neither the Department of Infrastructure nor the City of Cape Town is aware of a project on the property for which details have been supplied. My office requested clarity through the appropriate channels of the WCPP but was unable to obtain accurate information. As a result, it is impossible to respond to the question in its current form. If accurate details are provided, my Department will respond accordingly.
