The Western Cape Government continues to take allegations of fraud, theft, and corruption seriously. All allegations are investigated by Provincial Forensic Services and relevant disciplinary measures are taken where appropriate if an employee of the Western Cape Government is implicated. Additionally, charges are laid with the South African Police Service when criminal wrongdoing is believed to have been comitted – either by a WCG employee or any other person. These charges can in turn lead to prosecution and conviction where appropriate.
