- How many children in the province are excluded from accessing health and education services due to not having birth certificates and (b) what impact does this have on their access to services?
Answer Body:
- The Western Cape Education Department has informed me that no children are excluded from accessing education services due to not having birth certificates.
The Department of Health and Wellness has also informed that all children are seen and treated at Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness clinics, district hospitals, regional hospitals, and tertiary hospitals regardless of whether they have a birth certificate or not.
