With regard to the shelter in Beaufort West:
(1) Whether the shelter belongs to the Province; if not, (a) who is in control of the shelter and (b) what funding is provided to the shelter; if so, which NPO manages the shelter;
(2) whether the broader community has access to the shelter; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
Answer Body:
1) No, (a) the building referred to is privately owned (b) the Department of Social Development does not fund any services at the address provided (b)n/a
2) The Department does not refer clients to this address. Currently women and children that require a safe space in Beaufort West are transported to the closest funded shelter in the Central Karoo
