With regard to the waiting time for patients:
What is the average waiting time for patients at the Mitchells Plain Community Health Centre?
Answer Body:
Mitchells Plain CHC emergency centre records waiting times by South African Triage Scale colour. For June 2025 (to date) the averages are:
Triage colour | Average time to triage | Average time to first consultation |
Red (emergency) | 9 minutes | 30 minutes |
Orange (very urgent) | 12 minutes | 1 hour 13 minutes |
Yellow (urgent) | 16 minutes | 2 hours 29 minutes |
Green (routine) | 17 minutes | 3 hours 10 minutes |
These figures show a modest improvement on the May 2025 results despite high patient numbers. Staff rostering, rapid streaming of low-acuity cases, and daily huddles remain in place to reduce waiting times further.
