Infrastructure
With reference to the deed of exchange between the Western Cape Government, represented by the Department of Infrastructure, and the Saldanha Bay Municipality, pertaining specifically to erf 12342 of erf 80 St Helena:
- Whether the deed of exchange between his Department and the Saldanha Bay Municipality has been completed; if not, (a) why not, and (b) when will it be completed;
- (a) what is the timeline of development for the school that is set to be built on the land named in the deed of exchange, (b) what is the current status of planning approvals (eg rezoning, environmental approvals) for the development of the school, (c) how much is the development of the school set to cost and (d)(i) what type of school is proposed and (ii) what is the proposed capacity of the school?
- (a) The Deed of Sale was vetted by Legal Services, submitted to the Municipality and received duly signed. (b) The signed Deed is due to be tabled at the Property Senior Management Committee in the first week of July for approval. If approved, it will be submitted to me for sign off.
- The Department of Infrastructure is not the implementing agent for the proposed school. Enquiries will have to be directed to the WCED.
