How much did she claim for (a) transport and (b) accommodation for duties performed during the 2024/25 financial year?
Answer Body:
As per circulars by the National Treasury and Provincial Treasury instructions relating to Travel and Subsistence, employees that are required to undertake official journeys as part of his/her official duties or to execute a specific task may claim for meals and transport expenses that are incurred.
For the 2024/25 financial year, Minister Marais had ZERO claims to the department in respect of (a) Transport and (b) Accommodation. All transport and accommodation for official duties was administered by the department through the dedicated travel agency.
