The Standing Committee on the Premier and Constitutional Matters invites written submissions on the Public Service Commission Bill [B 30B–2023] (NCOP) as part of its constitutional responsibilities.
PURPOSE OF THE BILL
The Public Service Commission Bill aims to:
• regulate the Public Service Commission in accordance with section 196 of the Constitution;
• establish a secretariat to support the Commission's work;
• strengthen the Commission's independence and oversight role across the public service and public
administration, including municipalities and public entities;
• repeal the Public Service Commission Act, 1997; and
• introduce modernised governance frameworks.
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Interested individuals and organisations are invited to submit the following:
• Written submissions (which must include your full name, municipality, contact details and email address).
• An indication of interest to provide oral input during hearings (if applicable).
