On Friday 27 June 2025 and Monday 30 June 2025, the Standing Committee on Social Development will host a multi-sectoral child protection dialogue. The event will take place in the Chamber (sixth floor), Western Cape Provincial Parliament, 7 Wale Street, Cape Town. The dialogue will start at 09:00 on both days.

 

“During the two days of dialogue, key voices from law enforcement, justice, academia, child welfare and civil society will come together to have a multi-sectoral discussion on child protection and security. We have extended invitations to a large number of organisations in the child protection and safety sphere. Concerned Western Cape Government Departments, officials of the Western Cape Commissioner for Children’s Office and the National Prosecuting Authority – Sexual Offences and Community Affairs Unit (SOCA) are among key stakeholders that confirmed. that they will be attending. Organisations have until Friday, 20 June to respond,” said Wendy Kaizer-Philander, chairperson of the Standing Committee on Social Development.

“We owe it to every vulnerable child to do more than just speak. Every child deserves to be safe, seen and protected,” emphasised Kaizer-Philander.
