1) how many collab schools are there in the province;
(2) whether the collab schools receive funding from his Department; if so, what are the relevant details?
My department has informed me of the following:
(1) 11
(2) Collaboration schools are public ordinary schools and therefore receive the required funding from the Western Cape Education Department (WCED). The funding provided by the WCED encompasses the following key areas:
• Salaries for educators and non-educators: the WCED maintains payment of salaries for educators and non-educators employed at the school;
• School financial allocation: the WCED provides the school's financial allocation based on the Norms and Standards for School Funding;
• Initiatives such as the Learner Transport Scheme and the National School Nutrition Programme.
