The Budget Committee and the standing committees of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament will consider the Western Cape Appropriation Bill of 2025 as part of their oversight function at virtual meetings on Microsoft Teams that will be streamed on YouTube. The meetings are scheduled from Wednesday 4 June 2025 to Friday 6 June 2025. The proposed budgets of each provincial department and entity of the Western Cape Government will be discussed.
Purpose
The purpose of the Western Cape Appropriation Bill of 2025 is to provide for the appropriation of money from the Provincial Revenue Fund for the requirements of the Province of the Western Cape in the 2025/26 financial year and to provide for matters incidental thereto. Money may be withdrawn from the Provincial Revenue Fund only in terms of an appropriation by a provincial act.
Introduction of the Western Cape Appropriation Bill
Once the Western Cape Appropriation Bill is introduced in the Western Cape Provincial Parliament on Tuesday 3 June 2025, an electronic version of the Bill will be available on the institution’s website (www.wcpp.gov.za).
Copies of the Western Cape Appropriation Bill, as well as a copy of the schedule of the meetings, will also be available on request from the Standing Committee’s Procedural Officer, Mr Dustin Davids. His details are:
