With regards to gambling companies, bookmakers, sports betting and casinos in the Western Cape:
(1)
(a)(i) How many operators are licensed by the Province and (ii) what are their names, (b) how many applications are currently being considered by her Department and (c) how much in (i) gross gambling revenue did the top ten operators declare and (ii) taxes and levies did the top ten operators pay to the provincial fiscus in (aa) 2022/23 and (bb) 2023/24;
(2)
whether all the operators pay a portion of their gross gambling revenue to the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation; if not, why not; if so, is it part of their licence conditions;
(3)
how many physical gambling or betting outlets are in the province?

(a) (i) There are ninety-seven (97) licensed operators in the Western Cape
(ii) Please refer to Annexure “A” for their names
(b) There are currently seventy-one (71) applications being considered –
Seventeen (17) operators including manufacturers and fifty-four (54) LPM site
applications
(c) The table below shows how much in (i) gross gambling revenue the top ten
operators declared and (ii) taxes and levies the top ten operators pay to the
provincial fiscus in (aa) 2022/23 and (bb) 2023/24;
