With reference to a letter written to your office in April 2016 regarding a patient – whose name has been furnished to your Department for the purpose of your reply and who was treated at the Citrusdal Clinic and Hospital, whether her Department had investigated the matter; if not, why not; if so, what was the outcome of the investigation?
The complaint was brought to the Department’s attention on 12 May 2016. It has been referred to the West Coast District Office for investigation and handling in accordance with the Department’s complaints management policy.
The complaint was also acknowledged in writing within 5 working days. As part of the acknowledgement, the complainant was advised in terms of the investigation process and when they can expect a response and given a reference number. The complaint is currently being investigated and feedback will be provided to the complainant within 25 working days. This response time is in line with the National Core Standards.
