- What is the (a) (i) granted number and (ii) actual number of operational posts for (aa) detectives and (bb) VISPOL officers at the Moorreesburg police station, (b) total number of vacancies, (c) rural safety plan for this precinct and (d) current level of (i) VISPOL and (ii) vehicles provided to Koringberg;
- whether there are any plans to increase manpower and police visibility in Koringberg; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
The South African Police Service informed me as follows:
1. (a) (i) 58 x posts
(ii) (aa) 8 x post
(bb) 46 x posts
(b) 4 x vacancies
Please note the acting Provincial Commissioner’s approval of four (4) Entry Level Constables to be recruited for this station from the 2015/2016 allocation. Projected future operational staffing is 100%
(c) The Koringberg resorts within the Moorreesburg SAPS Policing precinct. There is a Rural Safety Plan available for the area.
(d) (i) and (ii) The area is policed by Moorreesburg SAPS as part of the Sector Policing concept. There is also an appointed Sector Manager active in the area.
2. Koringberg is not an official contact point/ satellite. The operational staffing as per Question 4.1 above accommodates all operational requirements within this precinct.
