Human Settlements
- Why are the Witteklip community in the Saldanha Municipality not part of human settlement development of the province;
- whether the survey for human settlement development in the area and municipality has been finalised, if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details
whether he will supply a copy of the outcomes?
- Development for Witteklip was not included in the Human Settlement Pipeline for the 2012/13 to 2016/17 period due to other priorities identified and agreed upon by the Municipality.
All development areas are included under the different towns within the Municipality’s Human Settlement Plans (HSP). Witteklip forms part of Vredenburg.
The Municipality has subsequently developed a draft Integrated Human Settlement Strategy and Pipeline. The document will be submitted to their Council during August 2015 to consider the readiness of the Human Settlement Pipeline.
- The current and future projected housing demand analysis is included in their Human Settlement Plan and is currently being reviewed.
A detailed survey of Informal areas and Backyard dwellings is currently being conducted. Aerial photography and lidar scanning were performed in June 2015 and is also being analysed. The results will be incorporated into their final HSP.
- The Draft Human Settlement Plan and Pipeline will be made public
after adoption by their Council and during the public participation process.
