With reference to the Heritage Day event hosted by the Beaufort West Municipality on 24 September 2019:

1. (a) What are the names of all the service providers that were contracted by the Municipality for this event, (b) what was the total cost paid by the Municipality to each service provider and (c) what are the names of the directors, board members and owners of these service providers;

2. in line with the process of supply chain management, whether the names of all the service providers that submitted quotations to deliver the required services for this event can be made available; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details

3. whether a copy of the programme, including the names of all the guest speakers, can be made available; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?

Answer Body: 

         The following information was provided by the Municipality:

                (1)(a)  No service providers were directly contracted by the Municipality for this event. The Speakers Office coordinated the event.

              (b)  The Municipality incurred no money on service providers.

    (c)  The Municipality did not make use of any service providers, but only received donations.

 (2) No service providers were contracted, but GCIS sponsored R26,000 for the sound system used at the event, Old Mutual provided sausage to the value of R500 and Finbond donated party packs and gifts for the children. The Communication office supplied footage (photos) of the event to showcase the number of people that attended the event. The event was mostly attended by children.

(3) No copy of the programme is available.

Mr Chris Nissen (South African Human Rights Commission);

Ms Ayanda Barns (MP);

Alderman Sinki Motsoane (Speaker of Beaufort West Municipality);

Cllr Quinton Louw (Deputy Mayor of Beaufort West Municipality); and

Cllr Mcebisi Kilani (ANC Chief Whip)
