Questions and Replies

The right of Members to put questions to Ministers is an important part of ensuring the executive authority’s accountability to the Provincial Parliament. Questions may be put to Ministers related to their spheres of responsibility. Replies to questions are either given orally in the House or in writing. The replies to oral questions are recorded in Hansard.

In relation to the installation of CCTV cameras at police stations in the province: 25 (1) whether every police station is equipped with CCTV cameras; if not, which stations are equipped with them; (2) (a) how many CCTV cameras were installed in SAPS stations in (i) 2018/19, (ii) 2019/20, (iii) 2020/21, (iv) 2021/22 and (v) 2022/23, and (b) which stations received these cameras; (3) whether there any broken CCTV systems at any police station; if so, (a) at which station are they situated and (b) how much would it cost to replace each; (4) whether there are CCTV cameras affected by load shedding; if so, what are the plans to equip the cameras with uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems?

 Whether she can provide a comprehensive report of her Department’s Covid-19 response strategy and expenditure, including (a) details of hotspot areas to which her departments were deployed and related activities undertaken; (b) detailed expenditure breakdown per area (c) (i) what was the budget allocation versus expenditure by her Department in these Hotspots and (ii) how it was used;
