Questions and Replies

The right of Members to put questions to Ministers is an important part of ensuring the executive authority’s accountability to the Provincial Parliament. Questions may be put to Ministers related to their spheres of responsibility. Replies to questions are either given orally in the House or in writing. The replies to oral questions are recorded in Hansard.

(a) what essential safety equipment was stripped from the area that resulted in the cancellation of the train services, (b) how much would it cost to refurbish the area so that it would be safe for the train services to resume, (c) what is the timeline for the repairs and (d) how much revenue is Metrorail expected to lose per day for the cancelled train services as stipulated in (1)?

With regard to the responsibilities assigned to various members of his Cabinet as part of the Safety Plan:

(a) What is the purpose of these responsibilities and (b) how are they set to improve safety in the province;
