With reference to the announcement by the George Municipality of a pilot project to investigate its options of wheeling electricity on its grid:

 

  1. What developments have taken place since the announcement in late January 2021;

With reference to the decision by Stellenbosch Municipality to investigate the use and generation of alternative electricity energy supplies:

 

    1. (a) What alternative energy supplies are being considered by the Municipality and (b) what are the relevant details;

    1. what exact support, such as resources and consultation, does the MER project offer the Municipality;

With regard to the illegal invasion of land owned by subnational governments in the Western Cape:

(a) How many vacant parcels of land have been illegally occupied since March 2020 that are owned by the (i) Western Cape Government and (ii) City of Cape Town and (b) how many of these invaded parcels of land were earmarked for housing development by the (i) Western Cape Government and (ii) City of Cape Town;
    1. whether housing opportunities have been lost to illegal land invasion; if so, (a) how many and (b) what are the relevant details;

With regard to the sexual harassment case against the traffic chief and after it has been learnt that the victim of this GBV case has been so traumatised that she has had to receive outside assistance as none was offered by the very department meant to protect her and that she is now allegedly being victimised further in that she is alleged to be going through a “competency hearing”:

 

  1. (a) Why was the perpetrator not placed on leave while the investigation was ongoing and (b) why has his Department not provided any counselling intervention for the family;

 

  1. whether the victim is being put through a “competency hearing”; if so, why;

 

  1. how many cases of sexual harassment has been made with in this department from 2010 to date;

 

It has been alleged that there are staff members who have been promoted after being sexually harassed:

 

  1. whether he is aware of any such persons in the Department; if so, what are the relevant details;

 

  1. (a) what remedial action will be put in place for victims to come forward and (b) what will he do to protect any whistle-blowers in his Department?
