Questions and Replies

The right of Members to put questions to Ministers is an important part of ensuring the executive authority’s accountability to the Provincial Parliament. Questions may be put to Ministers related to their spheres of responsibility. Replies to questions are either given orally in the House or in writing. The replies to oral questions are recorded in Hansard.

  3. whether his Department received any complaints from staff members in the Direct-orate Land and Asset Management regarding a toxic or unsafe working environment since January 2023; if so, (a) how many such complaints were lodged, (b) what was the nature of each complaint and (c) what actions were taken in response to each complaint?

With regard to the safety and well-being of older persons, whether in care facilities or at private homes:

(a)  How many cases of elder abuse or neglect have been reported to his Department over the past two financial years, distinguishing between cases (i) in registered facilities and (ii) occurring in private settings and (b)(i) what interventions or support services were provided in response to these cases and (ii) how does his Department ensure effective follow-up about and protection for the affected individuals?
